Visible, a Verizon-owned company and an all-digital wireless carrier in the United States that offers unlimited text, calls, video calls, data, hot spots and many more, is receiving many backlashes from its users due to account manipulation.

The company is currently receiving overwhelming criticism from their users, who took it to social media stating that their accounts had been hijacked and used to purchase phones, gadgets or make other expensive payments.

The company recently addressed the issues its subscribers were having with their respective accounts this week.

Several clients expressed their complaints on different social media sites such as Reddit, Facebook, and Twitter. The clients also stated that they had been locked out of their accounts, had their information changed, and had still not received any message from Visible.

However, the company confirmed the attack in a Twitter post last week. The Twitter post contains a statement that says they are aware of an issue in which some member accounts were accessed and charged without their respective authorization.

They also added that as soon as they received the concerning issue, they immediately worked on a review and deployed tools to reduce the severity of the problem, allowing additional controls to fortify the defence of their members. The investigation indicates that malicious actors could access username and passwords from a different source then exploits the information to several Visible accounts.

The company asked for the cooperation of its clients, urged them to contact their company if ever there were any charges executed to their account without their consent.

A Reddit user who is also a client of Visible stated that they discovered a hefty price of $1,175.85 charge to their account.

When gathering knowledge deeper, they found that the new iPhone 13 Pro Max with 128 gigabytes had been bought and sent to an address in New York, far from the account owner’s home address in Washington DC.

The concerned Reddit user also said that he contacted Visible, but the company offered nothing in return. However, they asked the customer if he had the order number, which would be impossible since he did not purchase the phone.

In a later post on Reddit, a Visible representative claimed that the company had not experienced any breaching or account compromising. They also said that only a small volume of customers’ accounts was changed without their authorization.

The company gave an advisory that urges its customers to review their account information, change passwords, and security questions to their Visible accounts.
